This photo was taken Lajitas, Texas in 1997. On the other side of the Rio Grande River is Mexico. A number of western movies including Lonesome Dove have been filmed here…

This photo of the only ‘hand-pulled” ferry crossing the Rio Grande River in Los Ebanos, Texas was taken in 1997. Mexico is on the far shore. As circumstance would have it, I have not been here since 1997 but I am currently in Texas as I write this and expect to see this ferry again this coming Tuesday…two days from now…

This photo was taken at Big Bend National Park in Texas in 2010. It’s a photo of the Rio Grande River flowing through Santa Elena Canyon. The walls of the canyon are 1,500 feet tall…
